Don Ewart – Consulting Entomologist
Better known as just Dr Don, he’s a qualified termite scientist with a BSc(Hons) and a PhD.
Don does contract research, expert witness & assessments, consulting, training, teaching pest management at Melbourne Polytechnic and increasingly, doing Field Biologist quality assessments for industry. Don is chair of the Standards Australia termite committee: a thankless volunteer task. He’s a co-author of the AEPMA’s Code of Practice for Prior to Purchase Timber Pest Inspection. He’s written three academic book chapters on (i) the impacts of climate change on urban pests, (ii) timber borers and for the American Chemical Society, (iii) termites. Last in was a report on the biology and management of the West Indian Drywood termites for the Queensland government. Don can be found through drdons.net and tiprm.com.
